Although, relatively junior at the English Bar, Henry Michael-Ihunde, as a Registered Foreign lawyer with the Solicitors Regulation Authority, worked with several Solicitors firms for several years prior to transferring to the Bar.
Henry also qualified 17 years ago as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He has substantial experience and is able to advise on all aspects of Nigerian law such as Family, Commercial law, communications law and Constitutional law. In Nigeria he has conducted heavy Commercial cases and was regularly instructed to represent the Nigerian government as external counsel in several matters concerning corporate contract on privatisation of parastatals involving Nigerian telecommunications company(NITEL) and Nigeria Airways. He has also acted as an external consultant to the Nigerian Communications Commission on several occasions. . In Nigeria he regularly advises on Labour matters.

Immigration, Asylum and Human Rights
Henry regularly advises and appears on behalf of appellants in all areas of immigration, asylum and human rights law, including judicial review.
Employment and Discrimination
Henry represents claimants in all areas of employment and discrimination law. He has appeared before the employment Tribunal robustly pursing claims on behalf of claimants in England and Wales.
Henry appears on behalf of defendants in the Magistrates, Youth and Crown Courts. He also undertakes Prosecution work on behalf of the Probation Service in the Magistrates and Crown court in England and Wales. He has Defended in Identity card Fraud and several other cases of assault before the Crown Court and Magistrate Court England and Wales. In Nigeria he regularly undertakes Defence work in the High Court and has appeared in several high profile matters. He is currently engaged in defending a multi- million dollars Pension Fraud case at the Federal High Court in Nigeria.
Prior to being called to the Bar of England and Wales Henry had substantial Commercial Law experience working from a foreign set of Chambers in Nigeria where he is also qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor. He was regularly instructed to represent the Nigerian government as external counsel in several matters and also acted as lead consultant in the privatisation of Nigeria Airways. He participated in the unbundling of the then national carrier and was actively involved in its winding up. He represented the Nigerian Government in negotiations involving the lease of a dedicated fibre optic line from the Nigerian Telecommunications Company (then national carrier) by one of major telecommunications company in Nigeria. He regularly appears in matters involving commercial disputes . In England and Wales he has assisted in a wide range of civil cases, preparing statements of case, Defence and providing advice on evidence. He also appears at the county court in cases involving freezing orders and on the Fast track. He has a very good grasp of commercial law and is able to respond within a short time from when instructed.
