Mohsin Malik is a barrister who specialises in Immigration, Asylum, Human Rights and Public Law.
Mohsin appears frequently before the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the Upper Tribunal and First-Tier Tribunal in all areas of Immigration Law, including human rights, deportation, EU law, domestic violence, refugee family reunion, entry clearance, bail, point-based system and other immigration appeals.
He is regularly instructed in judicial review proceedings and he has particular expertise in asylum and human rights claims. He has a particular interest in representing vulnerable clients, such as, unaccompanied asylum seeking children, victims of trafficking, human rights and cross border international issues. Mohsin is experienced in advising on challenging removal, detention, fresh claim refusals and other immigration related public law challenges. He also advises in private law actions for false imprisonment.
Mohsin is also experienced in advising and representing a broad range of clients under the points-based system. He has advised investors and entrepreneurs on their initial applications; drafted successful applications and represented entrepreneurs in their successful appeals. He has represented many individuals to achieve Tier 1 Investor and Entrepreneur visas from across the globe, including the Gulf region, China, Pakistan, and India.
He has advised numerous businesses and individuals in respect of immigration, compliance, regulatory, sponsorship and similar matters.
He is instructed by individuals (and is authorised by the Bar Council to undertake Direct Public Access work), companies and private solicitor firms on a wide variety of work.
Mohsin can undertake all aspects of criminal defence work both in the magistrate’s court and the Crown Court. He is an aspiring advocate who is very skilled and thoughtful in the way he approaches a case and is robust and tenacious when representing clients who have been charged with road traffic matters, theft, assault, drug related offences and fraud. He is very popular with lay clients and solicitors alike. In court, Mohsin is a fierce opponent who argues with conviction; out of court, Mohsin has the ability to provide clients with sensible, well-reasoned advice in a manner that puts clients at ease and engenders trust.
He is also an advocate of the High Court in Pakistan.
