Terri’s background is City based. She worked for some ten years in the Financial Markets for a major global brokerage organisation where she was a Senior Manager in European Government and Emerging Market bond broking. Her duties included day to day risk management for her specific team as well as overall management of a number of government bond market teams.
After re training and completing a twelve month pupillage at 9 King’s Bench Walk in 2001-2002, Terri accepted an offer of tenancy in October 2002.
During her years in chambers, Terri accepted instructions in all aspects of criminal, general civil and immigration work, gaining extensive advocacy and advisory experience in cases ranging from straightforward small claims to Judicial Review to complex multi-handed criminal trials. She is on the RCPO ‘C’ panel and has extensive experience at the Court of Appeal (yet to be defeated) and has successfully appealed numerous criminal matters involving both sentence and conviction; she has also successfully appealed a quasi judicial review/article 8 housing matter in the Civil Division at the Court of Appeal.
She has recently returned to full time practice having taught as a Senior Lecturer (Civil) at the College of Law on their Bar Professional Training Course.
Terri also acts as an external assessor for the CPS whereby she grades Higher Court Advocates on their advocacy skills. Terri’s practice remains a mix of civil and crime. She is equally happy advising the Local Authority on a multi million pound contract, defending a fast track trial or prosecuting a multi handed criminal case. Terri has considerable expertise in immigration law and indeed she lectured in this subject whilst at the College of Law.
Terri accepts instructions in all aspects of civil litigation including commercial matters, landlord and tenant and general common law. In appropriate cases, she is happy to accept instructions on a Conditional Fee Agreement basis.
