Richard Barrett and Shannon Revel secure the acquittal of co-defendants accused of Fraud following a trial at Southwark Crown Court.

Shannon for the first defendant and Richard for the second defendant, both instructed by Stuart Lim of Hollingsworth Edwards Solicitors, successfully represented the two women who were accused of fraudulently collecting money from members of the public.

The crown’s case was that the two women were part of an organised joint enterprise to defraud members of the public into thinking they were registered charity collectors. The co-defendants advanced that following a death in their family, they registered to take part in the Race for Life. Following cross examination of the officers and evidence presented on behalf of the two defendants, the jury acquitted them both, finding that they were not dishonest in collecting funds on the street without a permit in the run up to the race.
