Helen Douglass-Dixon, instructed by Jodie Dennison of Stryders Law, secured Not Guilty verdicts for her client charged with controlling or coercive behaviour, intentional strangulation, suffocation, two counts of assault, and criminal damage.
Following a seven-day trial at St Albans Crown Court, the jury unanimously acquitted the client of all counts in an hour.
The case involved careful and detailed analysis of the prosecution evidence, including cross-examination of the complainant which exposed a number of inconsistencies in their account. Helen also utilised a range of third-party material, including social services and medical records as well as non-defendant bad character evidence.
