Ishaq is a confident and persuasive advocate who is known for his thorough preparation, tactical awareness and calm approach under pressure. He has quickly developed a reputation for achieving strong results in contested matters and for building effective working relationships with instructing solicitors.

Ishaq regularly appears in the Magistrates’ Court in a wide range of hearings, including trials, applications and sentencing matters. He has achieved a high acquittal rate in contested trials and is experienced in advising clients at all stages of proceedings. He has conducted trials in the Youth Court, including cases involving indictable-only offences, and is adept at handling sensitive matters involving young and vulnerable defendants. In the Crown Court, Ishaq has appeared in jury trials, sentence, mention and bail hearings, securing favourable outcomes for his clients. His practice is characterised by careful case analysis, clear advice and effective courtroom advocacy.

Prior to his call to the Bar, Ishaq worked as a Court Clerk at the Royal Courts of Justice. In this role, he gained valuable insight into court procedure, case management and judicial expectations, which now informs his efficient and professional approach to practice. He also previously worked as a paralegal, assisting with drafting legal documents, conducting due diligence and undertaking legal research using resources such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
In addition, Ishaq volunteered with Citizens Advice, advising clients on criminal matters and assisting vulnerable individuals, reflecting his commitment to access to justice.
