Contact with Chambers should be made through the clerks’ room. The clerks are happy to discuss client requirements and provide further information on the expertise and experience of individual members, availability of counsel, arbitrators/mediators and their respective fees.
Great James Street Chambers is a virtual set of Chambers with clerks working remotely using the latest technologies to allow us to maintain a high level of service to members and clients. We can offer virtual meetings and conferences but also have London based facilities for clients requiring face-to-face sessions with counsel.
All of our clerks are fully trained in the administration of Public Access instructions.

ZOE PRESTON
Senior Clerk
Zoe is an experienced Senior Clerk and a Director of Great James Services Ltd. She manages Chambers, the clerks’ room and our barristers. Zoe is responsible for all aspects of business development, practice management, work allocation, fee negotiation and marketing. She manages the day to day operations of Chambers and brings a highly professional approach and service to Members and clients. She leads the clerking team with passion and knowledge and is instrumental in developing practices and maintaining strong working relationships within the legal industry domestically and internationally.
Zoe is a forward-thinking, modern Senior Clerk whose focus for Chambers is to create a flexible, diverse and transparent environment. Zoe is a member of the IBC.

DAVID CARTER
First Junior Clerk
David’s responsibilities include work allocation, fee negotiations and practice development. He is heavily involved in marketing and managing client relationships on behalf of Chambers, as well as implementing business development initiatives. David is friendly, with a highly professional approach which, alongside his knowledge of all practice areas in which Chambers specialise, enables him to efficiently manage all enquiries. David is a member of the IBC (Institute of Barristers’ Clerks)

ELOISE GROVES
Clerk
Eloise joined Chambers in 2022 and assists in all aspects of clerking duties within Chambers. She is a well organised, professional clerk who is heavily involved in diary management and administration. Prior to her clerking career, Eloise worked in compliance for a recruitment company, where she developed the skills she now utilises in her chosen profession as a barristers’ clerk. She is friendly, helpful and hardworking and a strong presence in our clerking team.

JO LEWIS
Fees Clerk and Chambers Administrator
Jo joined Chambers in 2019 and has extensive experience in billing and fee collection. Jo is responsible for managing the financial aspects of the clerks’ room and maintaining regulatory requirements. Jo is a highly respected fees clerk with over 30 years’ experience. Her reputation as a conscientious, knowledgeable and efficient fees clerk proceeds her and she is considered ‘one of the best in the business’ by her colleagues and peers.
