Great James Street Chambers was founded in October 2004
Chambers was founded by Alun Jones KC and was originally located at 37 Great James Street. In 2020, we embarked on a new venture, embracing the changes facing the legal profession post Covid-19, becoming one of a few virtual sets of Chambers. We operate remotely but with an office at 20 Old Bailey where we offer conference facilities and work space. We have embraced a modern way of working, under a limited company, allowing us to expand and to reduce commission rates for all Members.
Our Barristers provide specialist advisory and advocacy services in extradition, crime, family, public law, search warrants and production orders, restraint orders and asset confiscation orders, immigration, regulatory and civil law.
Our aim is to provide our Barristers and Clerks with a modern, friendly and supportive environment, allowing our Members to focus and develop in areas of law in which they are passionate, whilst providing the very best service to our clients.
We have Members of Chambers who are dual qualified. In addition to being Called to the UK Bar, we have Members called to the Bars in Sierra Leone, Hong Kong, Australia, St. Vincent & Grenada and Ireland.
Our Barristers are instructed on behalf of clients on an ad hoc admission basis before courts around the world. Our Members have provided expert advice to overseas courts. We have Barristers who are Public Access qualified across all areas of practice.
