Ishaq Usama, instructed by JS Defence Solicitors, secured an acquittal for his client facing two counts of s.20 GBH and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in a two-handed trial at Inner London Crown Court.
The prosecution alleged that Ishaq’s client acted with his co-defendant to cause GBH level injuries to a pub doorman relying on the complainant’s account, the defendant’s alleged admission in police interview as well as CCTV footage of the incident.
However, by highlighting contradictions in the complainant’s account compared to what was actually seen on CCTV, Ishaq managed to secure a unanimous acquittal on s.20 GBH as well as actual bodily harm as an alternative count.
