Nick Beechey, instructed by Sunil Lakhani Dalton Holmes Gray Solicitors, has had judicial verdicts of not guilty entered against his lay client, who was indicted with a conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration to a Member State (the UK) and a substantive offence in the same terms.
A well argued application to adduce hearsay evidence from one of the persons being trafficked led to the Crown concluding that it was not in the public interest to continue with the prosecution against her. Other defendants are due to stand trial or have pleaded guilty.
