Ania Grudzinska secured a not guilty verdict for her client charged with sexual assault following a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
The defendant was accused of sexually assaulting a 15 year old boy on a bus. He is a middle aged man of good character however, the prosecution evidence against him appeared to be overwhelming on initial examination: lengthy CCTV footage from the bus showed the defendant approaching the boy, following him onto the bus and sitting next to him on an empty upper deck. CCTV footage also showed the defendant viewing pornography whilst sitting next to the complainant.
After thorough cross examination of the complainant and a carefully crafted closing speech, the jury agreed with the defence evidence and returned not guilty verdicts.
