Instructed by Andy Tieu of Reiss Edwards Solicitors, Chengetai Mupara was successful in an EEA sham marriage appeal.
The first judge found the marriage to be one of convenience despite medical evidence of showing that the couple were trying for a child (including evidence of a recent miscarriage). That decision was successfully overturned by the Upper Tribunal and sent back for a new hearing. The second judge wasted no time in finding that the marriage was not one of convenience and allowed the appeal on the spot.
