Dan Santos-Costa, instructed by SBS Solicitors, secured an acquittal at Luton Magistrates’ Court after successfully making a half-time submission of no case to answer for his client charged with assault.
The complainant alleged that the defendant had pushed her over causing an injury to her hand. The defendant had maintained throughout the process that he was, at all times, acting in self-defence. He provided a comment on arrest and a full comment interview. In cross-examination the complainant accepted that she may have struck the defendant before he pushed her, and that he may have been acting in self-defence.
Dan made a half-time submission and the case was dismissed.
