Rushnay Sikander, instructed under a Certificate for Counsel by TV Edwards Solicitors, successfully represented her client, a youth charged with knifepoint robbery following a 3 day trial at Wimbledon Youth Court.
Rushnay’s client, who was of good character, was charged alongside two other defendants under joint enterprise. Rushnay was able to persuade the District Judge that her client was a bystander, rather than an active participant, as alleged by the Crown, by drawing out inconsistencies within the Complainant’s evidence. Her client was acquitted.
