Richard Barrett represented a client whose extradition was requested by Italy on a European Arrest Warrant (EAW).
The District Judge was not satisfied that the client was entitled to a retrial before the Italian courts and so he ordered his discharge. The original offences were for forgery offences in Italy by a Romanian national. The judgment was 16/12/2019 and the RJA has not appealed the decision to discharge.
