Dan Santos-Costa, instructed by Louise Rodaway, secured the acquittal of his client charged with rape. Dan represented the first defendant at trial at Southampton Crown Court. It was a two-handed case, prosecuted by King’s Counsel.
The indictment comprised 9 counts. Dan’s client, who had only recently turned 18 years old at the time of the alleged offending, was charged with four counts of rape, one count of assault by penetration, and one count of intentional strangulation.
Following an 8-day trial, Dan’s client was unanimously acquitted by the jury, after 3 hours of deliberation, of all 6 counts with which he was charged.
