Lucy Curran, instructed by JD Spicer Zeb Solicitors, represented a client facing four driving offences at Staines Magistrates’ Court.
Following a carefully drafted basis of plea and constructive discussions with the Crown, the prosecution offered no evidence on one charge.
Lucy pursued a special reasons application in relation to the remaining three offences. After detailed submissions and questioning of her client, the court accepted special reasons on two of those matters.
In respect of the final offence, Lucy advanced exceptional hardship submissions, which were accepted by the court.
The client received a conditional discharge and fine and avoided disqualification from driving.
