The Crown discontinues the case against Poppy Cleary’s client, instructed by Liberty Law Solicitors.
The Defendant was charged with carrying a firearm in a public place and common assault. The allegation was that the Defendant shot someone with a BB gun from their balcony.
Poppy succeeded in convincing the Crown to adjourn the first appearance for a full review of the case to take place. Poppy highlighted that a video the Crown had of the Defendant on a different date was inadmissible as the maker would not provide a statement or participate in the proceedings. Without this video, the case against the Defendant in relation to the specific date they were charged with was weak.
At the next hearing the Crown discontinued all matters against the Defendant, who retains their good character.
