Richard Barrett, instructed and supported by Philippa Issac of Hunt & Coombs Solicitors, successfully represented a defendant charged with armed robbery and attempted robbery after a trial lasting five days at the Crown Court Cambridge (Peterborough).
Richard extensively cross-examined the complainant and addressed the jury on the defendant’s extensive criminal convictions for offences of blackmail, robbery and theft, highlighting the inconsistencies in the prosecution’s evidence.
The jury returned unanimous, not guilty verdicts on all counts. The defendant was discharged, having spent six months remanded in custody before his trial.
