Ania Grudzinska, instructed by Ed Jones at Hodge Jones & Allen, has won an extradition challenge on the grounds of ‘family life’.
Ania represented a client who was sought, pursuant to a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Polish Judicial Authority, to serve a sentence of nearly two years.
The client settled in England permanently in 2013. He has two young children with his ex partner and he plays a big role in their lives.
The Judge discharged the warrant on the grounds that extradition would be incompatible with his family life. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of the Requested Person’s children’s rights who would be separated from their father for a lengthy period.
