Our client had two asylum and human rights appeals dismissed by the Tribunal in 2009 and 2017. On both occasions, the Judges found that the client’s sur place activities were in bad faith. Chengetai successfully argued that the client’s recent activities, posting comments critical of the Zimbabwean regime on Facebook and Twitter, storming the Zimbabwean High Commission in London and taking down President Mnangagwa’s portrait in 2019, placed her at real risk of persecutory ill treatment from the regime whether or not she genuinely holds anti-Zanu PF views.
