Chengetai Mupara was successful in an application, instructed under the direct access scheme, for leave to remain in the UK on the grounds of private life (20 year rule).
Our client has lived and worked in the UK under two false EU national identities. Chengetai argued that it was not in the public interest to refuse the application despite the use of false documents.
The Home Office initially refused his application. The client appealed. The hearing was adjourned several times as the Home Office insisted on an ‘in-person’ hearing which they failed to attend.
Chengetai has now received confirmation from the Home Office granting our client leave to remain.
