The client entered the UK in the mid 90’s from Jamaica. He was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment for Class A drug offences and deported. He returned to the UK 4 years later in breach of the deportation order using a new identity. He was granted indefinite leave to remain a few years ago. Recently the Home Office discovered his true identity and revoked his visa on the basis that the client had obtained indefinite leave to remain by deception. The client challenged the decision on human rights grounds.

Chengetai drafted the grounds for judicial review. The Home Office agreed to reconsider the decision.
