Great James Street Chambers is monitoring the advice given by the Government and this guidance will be updated as necessary.

Chambers remains operational and we are continuing to work during our usual hours of 8.45am-6.00pm. Clerks are currently working from home in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

You can call us on 0207 440 4949 or email clerks@greatjames.co.uk to speak to the clerks in relation to all existing or new matters.

Clerks are also available outside of working hours on their mobiles which can be found on the contact section of our website.

Barristers continue to represent clients but do so using technology available to us, such as telephone and video services, which connect us to the Courts and our clients. We are therefore fortunate to be able to continue to arrange to attend hearings and conferences virtually.

We would be grateful if you could make all payments by BACS using the bank details on fee notes.

Please send all documents electronically to clerks@greatjames.co.uk.

We support the current government guidance:

Stay at home

  • Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (where this absolutely cannot be done from home)
  • Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people
  • Wash your hands as soon as you get home

You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms.

Should you have any questions about this guidance, please contact the clerks’ room on 0207 440 4949 or by email clerks@greatjames.co.uk.

We are very grateful for your co-operation.
