Femi Awodele, instructed under the public access scheme, is successful in Children Act 1989 proceedings which have spanned a period of over two years.

Femi successfully obtained judgement for a Parental Responsibility Order and Contact in a case where the applicant father had been denied access to his child. The justices agreed that father’s name should be added to the child’s birth certificate. In a case that involved cross applications for variation and enforcement of extant orders, Femi successfully argued for contact to be reinstated immediately following a previous unilateral cancellation of contact arrangements. The justices agreed with the submission that it was in the best interest of the child for contact to be re-established between father and daughter with immediate effect. The evidence and arguments put forward by Femi showed a loving relationship between father and daughter and the court agreed that contact arrangements should continue unhindered as the parties were urged to show cooperation in the best interest of the child.
