Kate Riekstina, instructed by Alice Dyer of Payton’s solicitors, secured Not Guilty verdicts for her client charged with rape, attempted rape, assault by penetration x 2 and sexual assault x 3, following a 17 day trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
The case involved 2 complainants who do not know each other, one of whom was 15 at the time of the allegation and the other 18. At the conclusion of the Crown’s case, Kate made a successful submission of no case to answer in respect of 2 of the counts on the indictment. Kate’s client was acquitted of all remaining counts.
