Kevin Metzger, instructed by Mubasher Ahmed of Rees Clayton Solicitors, has successfully secured a reduction in sentence for his client following an appeal against sentence at the Court of Appeal.

The case concerned two counts, Count 1: Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs
Count 2: Conspiracy to supply Class B drugs.

After considering detailed submissions made at the appeal hearing, the Court allowed the appeal and reduced the total sentence from 9½ years’ imprisonment to 8 years’ imprisonment.

The appeal focused on issues of categorisation, relative culpability, and the correct application of sentencing principles. The Court concluded that the original sentence required adjustment and imposed a reduced term accordingly.
