Kevin Metzger, instructed by Jane Higham of Glaisyers Solicitors Birmingham, secured an acquittal for his client at Birmingham Crown Court on one count of kidnapping and one count of causing grievous bodily harm.
The trial commenced last week, due to last 3-4 weeks and, although no evidence was called, the prosecution considered material provided by the defence which led to a consideration of relevant disclosure. The prosecution concluded that the disclosure would reveal that the complainant was too unreliable to continue to support the prosecution.
The prosecution offered no evidence and the defendant was acquitted.
