Stephen Akinsanya, instructed by Darekshan Salaria of Simon Bethel Solicitors, successfully defends a former professional boxer charged with 2 section 18 offences and one offence of Intimidation. The defendant was accused of the domestic assault following a disagreement over alcohol consumption. The complainant sustained injuries which were not treated immediately but which resulted in the amputation of her leg. The defendant maintained that the injuries were self-inflicted and that he only acted defensively during the altercation.
After a 4 day trial at Woolwich Crown Court, the jury returned unanimous Not Guilty verdicts in less than 1 hour.
