Vishal Misra, instructed by BKP Solicitors, successfully argued for not-guilty verdicts for his client charged with 3 counts of rape, which ended what would have been an 8 week trial at Bradford Crown Court.
Vishal’s client was one of 9 defendants accused of having played a role in the historic sexual exploitation of the complainant. During cross-examination, the complainant stopped attending court. Vishal, along with other defence counsel, successfully argued that it would result in a fundamentally unfair trial if the trial proceeded without further attendance of the complainant as a witness. As a result, all defendants were acquitted of all counts on the indictment.
