Chengetai Mupara, instructed under the Public Access Scheme, was successful in securing an acquittal for his client.
The defendant was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The complaint refused to make a statement .The Crown applied to adduce their evidence as hearsay (res gestae). Chengetai opposed the hearsay application at which point the Crown decided to offer no evidence and the charges were dismissed.
