The defendant had pleaded not guilty to an allegation of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply. The case was listed for trial with a co-accused. Two of the crown’s police witnesses did not attend and when the Judge listed the trial again, another police officer could not attend. The Judge described the Crown’s failings as “most unsatisfactory” and did not grant the adjournment requested by the prosecution, forcing the prosecution to offer no evidence and a not guilty verdict was entered.
