Raj Joshi, instructed by FMW Law, secured an acquittal for his client on a very serious allegation of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

The charge against his young client went back to 2018 and the prosecution relied very much on phone downloads which contained messages. On the day of trial, the prosecution had still not served the evidence and Raj persuaded the Judge that this was crucial for his client’s case. The prosecution served over 13000 pages of phone downloads. Raj put to the prosecution drugs expert the fact that over 400 texts and 17000 other messages were on the suspected phone. Raj cross examined the witness on the basis that only 5 might relate to any street dealing, with only one message sent relating to the defendant. The expert conceded that even the one message was ambiguous.

The jury returned a not guilty verdict following a 3 day trial at Isleworth Crown Court.
